Credentials:
I completed my Masters in Journalism at The University of Melbourne where I received first class honours at the end of 2024.
I spent the first few months of this year interning at Vogue & GQ Australia on the Digital team, where I researched, wrote and built stories for publication on the website. Some of these stories included covering Street Style at Copenhagen Fashion Week, new hospitality openings such as Melbourne Place and Hacienda Bar and Lounge and a guide to the best luxury stays in Australia among others.
I have also spent the first few months of this year as head of brand strategy and communications at Somewhere, a luxury villa in the Bay of Islands of New Zealand. In this role I organised and directed a photo shoot of the property, wrote all of the copy for the website, worked on the branding, curated itineraries for guests and liaised with inbound travel agents.
Last year I interned at the ABC’s Four Corners - ‘the home of investigative journalism in Australia’, where I helped out as an assistant researcher on two environmental stories ‘Water Grab’ which investigated the exploitive emerging cotton industry in the Northern Territory and ‘Wind Wars’ which explored tensions between nature conservation groups and the push for more wind farms to help Australia meet its climate targets.
I was a Producer for Both Sides Now, a political podcast and online information platform aimed at breaking down polarisation and increasing youth voter engagement. The podcast interviewed a range of prominent New Zealand politicians including first female Prime Minister Jenny Shipley and current Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. In 2023 we ran a campaign called ‘The Breakdown’ which aimed to cut through political spin and display, in easily digestible terms, the proposed policies of each party in comparison to each other.
I was also an Editor at Antithesis Journal, Australia’s oldest graduate journal of contemporary theory, criticism and culture.
I also worked part time at global sustainable fashion brand Maggie Marilyn in a Communications and Social Media Writing role, from 2020 – 2022. Here I helped craft the brand voice and use it to write copy for the website, instagram captions, EDM’s, press releases, and speeches for the founder.
